YELLOW AGATE

Its name is said to have come from that of a river on the Mediterranean island of Sicily know as the Achates. One of its more interesting features is the frequently occurring “banding”, which varies in intensity to light to dark. Agates are used primarily for signet rings, cameos, brooches and pendants. Its individual banding pattern makes it very attractive for stone engravings, vessels and decorative purposes. Agates are grounding stones, bringing about an emotional physical and intellectual balance. They aid in centring and stabilising physical energy.
