Amazonite is found in Brazil, but not near the Amazon, because of its beautiful blueish green color, popular as an ornamental stone. Amazonite is a semi opaque blue-green variety of microcline feldspar. Amazonite has been known to be confused with turquoise and jade. Especially when it is opaque.
